Yamanashi: Akeno Himawari Batake
Hi All,

Starting now, I will share some places that I visited in Japan in my last trip.

As I lived in Kofu, Yamanashi for 2 years then I will start from there.

Maybe many of you are not really familiar with Yamanashi Perfecture. It located near Mt. Fuji and surrounded by mountains. So if you like to enjoy nature then this place is great!

Even though I lived for 2 years in Yamanashi but last August was the first time I visited Akeno Himawari Batake (I was too focus on part time work so didn't really have time to visit many places). And it's fantastic! Unfortunately, the Sunflowers are only bloom in summer. So the best time to come is of course! SUMMER!

So where is Akeno Himawari Batake?

It located in Northwest of Yamanashi Perfecture, Hokuto City. It's well known as the sunniest place in Japan. And because of the sunlight production in that area, the place is blessed with +/- 290,000 blooming sunflowers from Late July to August. This place is also promoted by the local government so when I went to Akeno, there were many local tourist from around Yamanashi even some of them came from Tokyo.

How to get there?

From Shinjuku Station ride a train on JR Chuo Line ( You can take the Azusa or Kaiji limited express train that bound from Shinjuku to Matsumoto or normal train) to Nirasaki Station. It's around 2600 yen I think.

From Nirasaki Station, you can take a bus that written 「茅ヶ岳・みずがき田園バス」 to Heidi's Village Clara Kan. It takes around 25 minutes to arrive.

Or you can take taxi for around 20 minutes from Nirasaki Station.
